The only way the Houston Texans have a chance to beat the Patriots is if the defensive pass rush gets to Patriots QB, Tom Brady, quickly and often. Oh, and bench QB Brock Osweiler for Tom Savage.
Brady is the most disciplined QB in the league. He will take the underneath routes all day. These quick routes with shorter, quicker receivers were the key to beating the Seahawks’ fierce pass rush in the Super Bowl two years ago. He doesn’t hold on to the ball long enough for Clowney and the rest of the Houston monster defensive line to catch them. Not only that, I imagine that once Oakland Raider’s QB Derek Carr went down with an injury, they started preparing for the Texans. More than two weeks of preparation is all the Patriots need to have this game won by the third quarter.
