Here we go! The two best NFL weekends of the year starts now. Eight teams, four games that feature the best in the NFL duking it out for a chance to advance to the next round. Let’s get right to it!
Arizona Cardinals (11-5) at Carolina Panthers (7-8-1)
Some say that the Arizona Cardinals are reeling after the loss of Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton. Third string QB, Ryan Lindley, finally had a decent game last week versus the San Francisco 49ers only losing to a team that played their butts off for their coach Jim Harbaugh.
The Carolina Panthers however are one of the hottest teams in the NFL winning their last four games and securing the NFC South with a losing record of 7 wins, 8 losses and 1 tie.
I’m not a fan of Arizona Cardinals’ coach Bruce Arians but there is one thing that cannot be denied. He can motivate his players to play beyond their expectations. As a coach in youth sports, that is my objective too, get the kids to play with 100% effort 100% of the time regardless of their skills set. As much as a jerk Coach Bruce is he has a tremendous advantage over Carolina Panther’s head coach Ron Rivera. That will show today.
I’m predicting that the Cardinals will get off to a fast start going up by two scores. The QB of the Carolina Panthers, Cam Newton, is a phenom of a talent but missing key factors between the ears. Is he dumb? Nope. Just a victim of his own incredible abilities. Players that are that good rely on their abilities more than football smarts. That’s what the difference will be in this game. The Arizona defense will harass Cam Newton all day and hold on to win a close one.
My Pick: Arizona Cardinals: 17 Carolina Panthers: 14
