It’s confirmed: Bonafide Miracle

It’s been a long day today.  My brother arrived this morning about 10:00 am and we talked through some of the stuff that had occurred last night.  The response to my experience with this morning’s blog has been overwhelming and there are many that would like an update, we don’t really have one but something cool is happening during this tragic time so I thought I would share.

I’m reminded of the scripture in Genesis where Joseph talked about what was meant for harm, God meant for good.

Let’s look at the definition of a miracle.

mir·a·cle

ˈmirikəl/
noun
a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency.

“the miracle of rising from the grave” synonyms:  wonder, marvel, sensation, phenomenon, supernatural phenomenon, mystery

Around 3:30 pm we were visited by Sally Ragsdale, RN, ARNP with the University of Washington.  She informed us of an experimental treatment that does not require written consent for obvious reasons, victims of a Cardiac Arrest are not able to give consent.

She wanted to make a point, so she leaned forward.

“I talked to the paramedics and they confirmed that what happened to your husband has never happened.”

My mom stopped her and tried to get my attention.

“Yes?” I asked, somewhat irritated.

Looking at Ms. Ragsdale my mom said again, “can you repeat what you just said to my son.”

“Why sure,” she answered, “What happened to your dad last night the paramedic confirmed has never happened before.”

Booya. Yep, bonafide miracle.

She can go into detail about how they used a variety of CPR techniques, she can talk about medications used, but we all know that if it wasn’t for the authority given LIFE speak and literally hundreds of Facebook friends praying we wouldn’t be in the position we are in today.

Don’t worry, we told Ms. Ragsdale the truth, God’s power can overcome death through the power of prayer.  She was very receptive actually and confirmed her belief in prayer.

Now the waiting game begins.  At 7:00 AM tomorrow morning they will warm his body up which will allow him to wake up.  We need him to wake up naturally, probably around 12 noon.  Once he’s awake we’ll get a better idea of his brain activity.  I don’t think we went through all that we went through only for him to come out of this with brain damage.  Our spirits are high.

Lives were changed with this event and what originally happened for harm is starting to turn to good.

I’ll be talking to my dad tomorrow.  Unbelievable.  But isn’t that what a miracle is?

Impossible is possible with IM.

More to come.
